Goal of this activity: explore the library's research guides

Working individually: 

1. From the CDE guide, navigate to the full collection of research guides
2. Browse through the lists of guides, focusing on the general, subject, and how-to guides
3. Identify 2 guides that you think might be helpful this year
4. With a partner, discuss your choices
   1. How were your choices similar?
   2. How were they different?

Goal of this activity: explore the library's catalog (library search engine) 

Working in pairs: 

1. Open the library website 
2. Search in the library catalog for the topic:  COVID and international trade 
3. Answer the following questions: 
   • What type of resources are you finding? 
   • How would you limit your search to only scholarly articles? 
   • How would you limit to articles published in the last year?
   • How would you limit your search to books only? 
   • How would you find a specific book on the library shelves? 

Goal of this activity: identify library databases

Working in pairs: 

1. Open the library's list of databases 
2. Find the databases for Economics 
3. Find the list of datasets the library subscribes to 
4. Find one database that you think you might find useful this year
