Manuscripts of ten mele, or Hawaiian language poems, by various authors and submitted to the care of Samuel Chapman Armstrong in his capacity as editor of a newspaper. While the mele were intended for publication, it is not known at this time whether they were all published. Authors include S. L. Wailehua, J. H. Pahuume, P. Kahaleihili, J. W. Naihe, B. R. Kalama, D. K. Holoikauai, and W. L. Moehonua. Other creators remain unidentified. Fully digitized and also available in the reading room.
