COMP 216: Folk and Fairy Tales: Introduction

Professor: Sarah Allen
Spring 2025

Welcome

This guide is an introduction to doing research for the final assignment of writing an analytical paper on folk or fairy tales.

It includes search strategies to

  • research the history of folk/fairy tales
  • find critical analysis of folk/faire tales (scholarly articles and reviews)

It provides introductions and search tips for

  • Using the Williams library catalog and Worldcat
  • Identifying and searching library subscription databases
  • Locating materials in the Williams libraries
  • Obtaining materials from other libraries (using interlibrary loan)

Every research project is different with its own framework.  I'm always happy to meet with you if you have any additional questions about identifying, finding or accessing materials.  You can email me, or schedule an appointment. Or you can always reach out to other librarians in Research Services through our Ask A Librarian services
