Welcome

This research guide is tailored to secondary sources related to your project for HIST 266: The Roaring Twenties and Rough Thirties.

Class -- Concept Mapping

In groups, look closely at 3-5 materials and collaboratively create a concept map that outlines and investigates this small corpus.

Each entry on your concept map should:

  • Include the names of material.

  • A brief description of its physicality and its original purpose. In other words; it’s value at the time of its creation.

  • One or two observations. It’s value as historical evidence.

  • A thematic tag.

Draw specific connections between the materials. What are the specific themes, questions, ideas that arise between them?

Once you have a web, use one of the databases below to find a secondary source relevant to two of the objects on your concept map.

This secondary source should speak to the connection between the two objects that you placed in conversation together, and act as source-based connective tissue.  Add the citation to your concept map.
