Citing

It is important to acknowledge all sources you have used in your writing assignments. See the links below for information on what you need to cite and examples.

Research Tip: Use a Citation Manager

Use a Citation Manager

A citation manager stores all your citations in a searchable database so that you can:

  • Format your footnotes or endnotes automatically in the style of your choice (APA, Chicago, MLA, etc.).
  • Format your bibliography automatically.
  • Insert references into a Word document with a click.
  • Create and format an annotated bibliography.

The library supports the desktop and online version of EndNote.

Writing

You'll be doing a great deal of technical writing in this course. In many ways, technical writing subverts the expectations of academic writing that you may be used to. Good technical writing is clear, concise, and front-loads the most important information.
