Introduction

In this course, you will be finding information to support your Capstone creative project including the in-class presentation.  Use this guide as a starting point for key resources, search strategies, evaluating sources, and how to cite your sources.  Please email me to schedule research appointments as needed.

Choosing a Topic

1.  Professor Blair has provided some suggested topics.  Do a quick literature search and, as a group, select one for your in-class seminar and final paper.

  • Covalent inhibitors of protein kinases
  • Drugging the undruggable: inhibition of K-RAS G12C
  • Activity-based protein profiling
  • Photoaffinity labeling in chemical biology
  • Targeted protein degradation in live cells: PROTACs
  • DNA-programmed combinatorial chemistry for novel drugs
  • Bioorthogonal ligation reaction for imaging live cells\
  • Recent advances in antibody-drug conjugates
  • Mass spectrometry and target validation in drug discovery

2.  Revisit a topic from an earlier class.  Be sure to focus on the biophysical chemistry of the topic!

3.  Explore the textbook for ideas.
